Even the practical jokes are getting dangerous on SmackDown!

One week after WWE Champion JBL and his Cabinet tricked Kurt Angle into stripping down to his underwear while Joy Giovanni was taking a shower, the Olympic Champion would get his sweet revenge in a painful way.

Thursday in Tampa, Florida, Joy and JBL Image Consultant Amy Weber were scheduled for a match after yet another backstage scuffle, but when Joy didn’t appear for the match, foul play was suspected.

Show erupted with anger, chokeslammed newly crowned Tag Team Champions The Basham Brothers and hit Chief of Staff Orlando Jordan with six consecutive brutal chair shots to the back.

JBL and Weber escaped the ring and left via the stands, claiming they had nothing to do with Joy’s disappearance.

Moments later, cameras revealed Angle, Mark Jindrak and Luther Reigns laughing backstage, as Angle all but admitted he was behind the whole fiasco. All of this simply adds to the intense drama for the Triple Threat Match at the Royal Rumble Jan. 30 between Angle, JBL and Big Show.

Meanwhile, new WWE Tag Team Champions were crowned as The Basham Brothers won a grueling Fatal Fourway, pinning a distracted Rey Mysterio for the belts.

After the teams of Jindrak & Reigns and Eddie Guerrero & Booker T had been eliminated, Doug Basham attacked an already injured RVD by slamming the metal steps into his knee while the ref wasn’t looking.

As medics took RVD away, Mysterio was clearly shaken. The Bashams took advantage by illegally switching places after Mysterio had hit his 619 on Doug. Danny jumped in and connected with a power bomb for the cover. WATCH 56k | 300k
